Jag har en kusin som är 11 år yngre än jag och en sommar när hon var liten hade hon och min moster kokat sylt. En av burkarna fick flytta hem till mina föräldrar och när jag öppnar kylskåpsdörren står det en burk med en etikett där det står hallånsylt. Sådär på riktigt skriven av en barnhand med spretig stil som precis har lärt sig skriva. Och hur ska man veta hur hallonsylt egentligen stavas? Jag tänker ofta på den där burken och tror nog att världen skulle kännas lite, lite bättre om hallonsylt faktiskt stavades hallånsylt.
Hemma hos oss kokas det faktiskt ganska mycket sylt. Inte så jag står och kokar på 10 L bär, utan jag kokar lite mer efter behov. Som om vi ska äta pannkakor och sylten är slut, då kan jag koka en omgång som räcker till middagen och lite till. Då behöver man inte tillsätta massa konserveringsmedel utan det räcker fint med vanligt hederligt strösocker. Sist fick jag den här lilla barnmatsburken med sylt över. Klä in det fula locket med en bit tyg och du har en perfekt ”gåbort-present”
Känn er fria att dubbla eller tredubbla receptet om ni vill ha mycket sylt, men använd då syltsocker så sylten inte möglar.
Hallånsylt:
250 g hallon
1 1/2 dl strösocker
1 knivsudd äkta vaniljpulver
Koka upp hallon, strösocker och vaniljpulver. Låt koka cirka 5 minuter. Häll upp på väl rengjorda burkar och förvara svalt.

Min favorit är bjärnbärssylt. På min gård växer björnbären vilt, min mamma planterade ett par buskar när de flyttade hit på 80-talet, nu har de brett ut sig och det är hundratals med buskar!
Barnmatsburkarna är toppen till det mesta!
Jag frös även in mat till mina barn i dem – funkar finfint!
De vägrade äta burkmaten, men några burkar efter fruktpuréer fick jag ihop i alla fall.
